Confimation Introduction

Confirmation is not a sacrament in the Lutheran Church and therefore it is not required. Is is an optional series of lessons, music, Christian fellowship and fun.

However, if a child registers for Central's WNW, the program and its requirements are no longer optional. The staff and Ministry Team have a well-conceived and highly integrated educational system, of which WNWs are a part. To preserve the integrity of this system, and WNW in particular, expectations are set and must be reached.

As with any set of expectations involved in a church function, the purpose of completion is not to finish, but to learn from the experiences that lead up to completion. Nothing is absolute, and special operation and support of parents and guardians to help their child achieve the requirements, thereby helping us reach our goal of faithful youth who are genuinely excited about Christ and the church.

To this end, and to underscore that this is a cooperative effort, we ask that each student and parent, along with the small-group guide and pastor, sign a covenant to this effect.

Confirmation date for soon-to-be 9th graders is Sunday, September 20, 2009, at 1:30 pm. Pictures at noon that same day.

Confirmation rehearsal and final exam is Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 6:00 pm.
